Why membership
Built for patients who want a GP who knows them
Membership is for patients who want continuity: the same GP, easier access, and a practice that knows their history. It does not change the standard of care.
Membership may suit you if you expect to use Basuto regularly and want priority booking. You can request the same doctor, subject to availability. Compare the annual membership cost and appointment allowance with the cost of paying for each visit.

Common Questions
Membership FAQs
Who is membership best for?
Membership may suit you if you expect to see a GP regularly or value priority booking and discounted blood tests and prescriptions. Compare the yearly fee with the number of appointments you expect to use.
Access costs £360 a year plus £80 per standard adult GP appointment. Adult membership costs £1,020 a year and Child membership costs £660 a year; both include up to 10 GP appointments. Please check the plan exclusions before joining.
What happens when I have used all 10 appointments?
You can move to Adult Unlimited for £30 extra per month (total of £115/month) or Child Unlimited, again, for £30 extra per month (total of £85/month), which remove the appointment cap, or pay for additional appointments as required. Unlimited is recommended for chronic conditions and families with young children.
What is the cancellation policy?
All membership plans have a 12-month minimum term. After that, you can cancel with 3 months’ written notice. There is a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you join, during which any consultations used are charged at the standard single-appointment rate. Appointments themselves can be cancelled with 24 hours’ notice; less than 24 hours and the full fee applies.
Can I keep my NHS GP?
Yes. Joining Basuto does not affect your NHS registration. Many of our members use both — Basuto for responsive same-day care and continuity, and the NHS for hospital referrals and specialist pathways.
Is there a joining fee?
No joining fee applies. You pay the membership fee and any appointments or services outside your plan. Check the included appointments and exclusions before joining.
Is there a family discount?
Yes. Register two or more family members from the same household together and receive 10% off the combined monthly total. You can mix adult and under-16 plans.
Do I need to be a member to book?
No. You can book directly as a single-appointment patient at any time. No registration or membership required. Many patients start with a single consultation and decide from there.
Does my child need their own membership?
Children can have their own Under-16 membership independently — you do not need to be a member yourself. As parent or guardian, you are responsible for registration and monthly payments.
