Vaccination for adults, children and families
Basuto provides vaccinations at every stage of life, including routine adult vaccines, catch-up doses for adults and children, and the full UK childhood schedule. We have vaccinated Fulham families on Basuto Road since 1990, including several generations of the same families.

Your appointment
What happens at a vaccination appointment
A vaccination appointment starts with a short review before the vaccine is given. Your GP will check which vaccine you need, your vaccination history where available, any allergies or previous reactions, current medication, and anything that may affect timing or suitability, including pregnancy.
The vaccine is then given, with a short observation period where appropriate, and the dose is recorded. You leave with a clear record of what was given, which can be useful for schools, universities, employers and future catch-up decisions.
If more than one vaccine is due, they can often be given in the same visit where clinically appropriate. If a course needs several doses, we can book the next appointment before you leave so the schedule stays on track.

Private vaccination prices
Vaccine fees vary by vaccine and by the number of doses in a course, and are confirmed when you book. The vaccine fee is separate from GP consultation fees.
If you want a broader discussion first – which vaccines you actually need, catch-up planning for an uncertain history, or vaccination alongside another health concern – a standard 30-minute GP consultation is available. We confirm all costs before anything is given. No registration fee, no catchment area.

Private vaccination alongside NHS care
You do not need to leave your NHS GP to be vaccinated privately, and booking with Basuto does not affect your NHS registration. Some of the vaccines on this page are available free on the NHS for eligible groups – the NHS flu and shingles programmes, for example, are based on age and clinical risk.
Patients typically choose private vaccination when they fall outside NHS eligibility, want a vaccine the NHS does not routinely offer for their group, or want a specific appointment time that suits work or family life. If an NHS route would serve you better, we will say so.
Keep your vaccination record safe and share it with your NHS GP if you wish – continuity of records helps everyone treating you.

Which vaccines do you offer?
Routine and catch-up vaccines including flu, shingles, HPV, chickenpox, MMR, hepatitis B, pneumococcal and MenACWY, plus travel vaccines through our travel clinic and the full UK childhood schedule. The current list is confirmed when you book.
How much does a private vaccination cost?
Vaccine fees vary by vaccine and number of doses, and are confirmed before you book. The fee is separate from consultation fees; a full 30-minute GP consultation, if you want one, is £160 for adults and £140 for children.
How quickly can I be vaccinated?
Usually promptly – appointments run Monday to Friday and short-notice slots are often available where capacity allows. Some vaccines need advance ordering or multiple doses, so booking ahead helps, especially before travel or university deadlines.
Do you vaccinate children?
Yes. We provide the full UK childhood vaccination schedule plus catch-up programmes, and travel vaccines for children through the travel clinic. See our childhood immunisations page for the schedule, including UK and USA versions.
Can I pay privately for a vaccine the NHS offers?
Yes. Some patients fall outside NHS eligibility for vaccines such as flu or shingles, and others simply prefer a time that suits them. Booking privately does not affect your NHS registration.
Can I have more than one vaccine at the same visit?
Often, yes, where clinically appropriate. Your doctor will confirm which combinations can be given together and, if a course needs several doses, book the follow-up appointments before you leave.
Do you offer travel vaccines?
Yes, through our travel clinic, where vaccine planning is built around your destination, itinerary and medical history. If your need is travel-related, book a travel consultation rather than a standalone vaccination.
Do I need to register first?
No. You can book a vaccination without registering with the practice, there is no catchment area, and patients visit from Fulham, Parsons Green, Chelsea, Putney, Hammersmith and Battersea.
